The way Ray handles Fraser's hat is :fire emoji:.

Gently in Seeing is Believing at the end of the ep & in Dead Man Running "the hat's sacred!" Ray expression affection to Fraser through his hat is so lovely. 

I do not yet have a full meta on this, but I wish I'd looked out for this in other eps more and I'll be keeping an eye out as I'm watching the rest of s3 (which is just mountie on the bounty at this point *heart eyes*) and s4.

I'm sure there's a couple of gifsets on Tumblr about this very thing, showing how Ray handles The Hat in number of episodes. I'll try and dig them up.

There's also that great moment in Mountie & Soul where he physically stops Fraser (hand on the chest) and stoops to pick up the hat himself.
